Population Growth Development


Indonesian population has develop far from the last years ago until now days. Eventhough when the Dutch colonized, the population of Indonesia decrese, because of the rules last time. But, since Indonesia is independence now, so those rules are not used anymore. Now, Indonesia has many population. This is the population growth development graph.

Factors Affecting Population Growth



There are 4 factors that affect the population growth, that are :

1) BIRTH RATE-the number of live births per 1000 in a year

Birth rates are affected by such factors as nutrition, fertility, attitudes about abortion, labour value of children, government policies, social value, the availability of contraception and culture.


2) DEATH RATE-the number of deaths per 1000 in a year

Death rates are affected by disease, war, medical technology, improved health care, transportation development and nutrition.

3) IMMIGRATION-the number of people moving into a country.

Pull factors-characteristics of a place that attracts people to it.

4) EMIGRATION-the number of people leaving a country

Push Factors-characteristics of a place that causes people to leave.

Refugees- people who are forced to leave their country due to war, life-threatening discrimination, famine, or natural disasters.

Sex Ratio

Sex Ratio is the ratio of male population with the female population. With the scale 1:100. The uses of Sex Ratio is to know the population of each, male and female. I f there are more males for example, so the government needs to make more school or work for males. These is the graph of Indonesian Sex Ratio on 1992.



Population Pyramid


This is the population pyramid of Indonesia you can see in this graph the population of Indonesia From year 1971 to 2000. The population pyramid are usually use to know the different of Indonesian population from a year to another year. The population pyramid could tell detailed, between girls and boys.

Life Expectancy Rate

Life expectancy is the average number of years of life remaining at a given age. The term is most often used in the human context, but used also in plant or animal.This is the Life Expectancy rate of Indonesia from 2003 until 2004. Every year Indonesian Life Expectancy Rate are increasing more and more. By seeing this tabel you can know the increasing of Indonesian Life Expectancy Rate, from 68.94 until 70.46 years.

Migration

Migration is the movement of the population in order to stay from one place to another across administrative boundaries (internal migration) or political boundaries / countries (international migration). In other words, migration is defined as a relatively permanent displacement of a region (country) to the regions (countries) other.

There are 2 types of migration, that are:


1.International Migration: International migration is the movements of population from one country to other countries.

2.Internal Migration: Internal migration is the migration happens in one country, such as inter-provincial, inter / district, migration from rural areas to urban areas

There are three criteria for migrants: Life time migrant, Recent migrant, And Total migrant

Life time migrant are those who place at different data collection with wrought-residence at the time of birth.

Recent migrant is one where he lived at different data collection at the time of residence five years earlier.

Total migrant is people who have lived in different places with a place to stay at the time of data collection.


Basically there are two groupings of factors that cause a person to migrate that is push factors and pull factors.

Push Factors:
*The reason of Education, Employment and Marriage
* Natural disasters such as floods, fires, earthquakes, tsunamis, the long dry season or a
Pandemic disaster
*Narrowing the fields work in the origin placed

Pull Factors:

* The opportunity to get a better education.
* Things environment and pleasant living conditions, such as climate, housing, schools and public facilities other.
* The activities in major cities, places of entertainment, culture center as a magnet for those other regions to settle in large cities.
* The expectations will have an opportunity to improve standard of living.
